TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF CITY OF ST. CLAIR SHORES:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN ELECTION WILL BE HELD IN THE CITY OF ST. CLAIR SHORES ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2017. THE POLLS WILL BE OPEN FROM 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE this election is for the purpose of Nominating Nonpartisan Candidates for the Office of City Council.

Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the City Clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot. You may vote by absentee ballot if you:

• Are unable to attend the polls without assistance
• Are 60 years of age or older
• Expect to be absent from your city or township for the entire time the polls are open on election day
• Are in jail, awaiting arraignment or trial
• Have been assigned to work as a precinct inspector in a precinct other than where you are registered
• Are unable to attend the polls because of religious beliefs

All electors who are registered with the city clerk in which they reside are eligible to vote at this election. Sample ballots can be found at www.mi.gov/vote. To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the City Clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
