        St. Clair Shores Lions Club:

        MISSION STATEMENT: To volunteer our time and provide financial assistance to the disabled, underprivileged, elderly, and youth of  St Clair Shores and internationally where appropriate, particularly related to sight and hearing in accordance with the mission of Lions Clubs International.         Senior Citizen Organizations

        American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) 
        Evelyn Gole is the vice president. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Blossom Heath Inn located at 24800 Jefferson (just south of Ten Mile Road) at 1 p.m. 

        Senior Center of the Shores (SCOTS)
        SCOTS is a non-profit organizational board that concerns itself with providing volunteer leadership for the activities and programs of the Senior Activities Center. Board membership is limited to residents by application. The SCOTS Board meets at the Senior Activities Center on the second Friday of the month at 9 a.m.

        Older Persons Advisory Committee (OPAC) 
        Chairperson Mary Cipriano can be reached at 313-884-5997. Sue Zanoni, the co-chairperson, can be reached at 586-778-0004. OPAC is an advisory committee appointed by the Mayor and City Council to discuss and evaluate the needs of older adult residents regarding transportation, recreation, food, housing, and other concerns. The committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 3 p.m. in the Senior Activities Center. Membership to fill vacancies is by application. 

        St. Clair Shores Senior Cruisers 
        Marie Krenzer is the president of the Cruisers. The St. Clair Shores Senior Cruisers are a social club for St. Clair Shores residents age 50 or older (only one spouse need be 50). Meetings are held on Wednesdays at the Blossom Heath Inn located at 24800 Jefferson (just south of Ten Mile Road) at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy coffee and donuts, play cards, play bingo, go on trips, and much more! Dues are $12.00 per year.

        Wheels for Wishes
        "Wheels For Wishes" is a car donation program benefiting Make-A-Wish Michigan that offers a free and easy way to recycle or donate unwanted cars, trucks, motorcycles, SUVs, RVs and boats. Donated vehicles can be recycled or auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish, helping your vehicle turn into a wish for a local child.         Wigs4Kids
        Wigs 4 Kids provides wigs and support services to Michigan children experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment, alopecia, trichotillomania and other disorders. Our program is available to children and teens between the ages of 3 through 18 at no charge to their families and there is no waiting.

        The Yardeners of St. Clair Shores
        The Yardeners of St. Clair Shores is a non-profit group dedicated to achieving beneficial environmental results by teaching and practicing earth friendly gardening.  This includes the use of Native Plants, wildlife habitat landscaping, composting, and integrated pest management minimizing the use of harmful chemicals.  The funds raised go back into the community through donations, educational programs, and planting projects.
