All business and residential alarms in St. Clair Shores must be registered through the Police Department. (City Ordinance 19.701)
Download or pick up the Alarm Registration Forms (PDF) at the OSS during normal business hours. Please fill the form out and mail it back to the Police Department with the $30 registration fee.
Accidents / Crash Reports are available online for purchase.
Copies of police incident reports and traffic accident reports are available in OSS. They are usually available after the incident on the first business day that Operational Support Services is open.
Accident reports are $18. Standard reports are $15 for the first three pages and $1 for each additional page.
Fingerprinting is done only for residents or persons required to have fingerprints for employment within St. Clair Shores. All persons fingerprinted at the Police Department must show valid identification.
Ink fingerprints are $10 for residents of St. Clair Shores and $20 for non-residents.
Livescan fingerprints can be sent electronically and are usually done for school employment. You must have a form issued by your employer with their ID number and reason code. The cost for Livescan fingerprints is $80 for residents and students of St. Clair Shores schools. It's $100 for non-residents.
Payment for this service must be only cash or a check payable to “The City of St. Clair Shores.” Payment must be made in the Operational Support Services & Records Bureau office between 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. You will then show your receipt to the front desk Officer for printing. Wait times vary for this service based on the Officer’s workload.

The Chief's Administrative Assistant also keeps a list of burned-out street lights. To report a burned-out street light, call the Chief's Administrative Assistant at 586-445-5320. They will add the light to the list, and Detroit Edison will be notified to make repairs.
Residents who plan to be away from their homes for seven (7) days or more and would like the Police Department to make periodic checks on their homes may download a VACATION FORM from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Fill it out and drop it off at the front desk of the St. Clair Shores Police Station.
